SYDNEY, April 27. Mr Wade, replying to a deputation representing th© principal industries of the State, asking for the duplication of the main trunk lines and th© construction of cross-country ' lines, said the Government proposed to carry out without delay all the more urgent duplications on three of the trunk lines. Steps were also being taken to improve the railway facilities across country. It would be necessary to raise a special loan for the purpose, but this would b© dissociated from the ordinary loan policy.
