LORD KITCHENER.
MS PROBABLE SPHERE OF
FUTURE ACTIVITY,
United Presi Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.
(Received April 28th, 12.40 a.m.)
LONDON, April 27
Lord Kitchener's arrival is +,ho theme of many newspaper leading articles. 'The Times" refers to his coming duties in the Mediterranean, and says it is natural that ho should be attracted to it by the prospect of renewed work in Egypt; b*4t England will 'be loth to think he should be lost to view for any great length of time.
The 'Chronicle," in a special article, says that although the Mediterranean is still the geographical centre of «he ■Empire, it is almost ludicrously unworthy of Lord Kitchener's abilities, as he could exhaust all its possibilities in three months. The article continues:—"The incessant cry of ©very Anglo-Indian when Lord Minto goes will be, 'Send us K. of X.' "
