The Anglican General Synod to-day had before it a motion to amend the canon so as to give women communicants the right to vote and act on vestries, and the right to vote for members of T>iocc6aii Synods. Tha discussion was adjourned till to-morrow. Tho bishops ■w.xir© < rr.pjAvcrod to appoint some person or persons to compile a nevr 'History c-f "ih? Church in Xow Zealand. This was done on the motion of the Rev. W. W. Sedgwick, who pointed out that tbt Jcactrs ot tho Church possessing; knowledge relating to the early life of the Church m the Dominion w«ro slowly paoKinj; away, and the personal knowledge of tliose remaining should te obtained before it was too late.
At the Anglican Synod to-night it was decided that there is no necessity for .a change in tfoo boundarie-J of the North Island dioorees. but that the erection of a. new diocese of Tarannki, to convprise generally the territory within the provincial district of Tara-/
nati, is urgent.
