WEST COAST SYMPATHY

(special to "the press.")

GBEYMOUTH, January 31. All the West Coast Labour Unions are now contributing la per week per member towards the support of the Newcastle strikers. In several instances large sums have been voted—notably at Denniston, where the Union decided to send £200 to their confreres in New South Wales.

The following resolution was carried at a meeting of the State Miners' Union: —"That this meeting of the State Miners' Union vigorously protests against the action of the New South Wales Government in passing a law which has led to the unjust imprisonment of Mr P. Bowling and his colleagues, and we are ready to lay down our tools at a moment's notice in conjunction with the workers of Australia if necessary, until these men are liberated."
