UNIVERSITY SENATE.
(TRISt ASBOOIA.TION TELKGHAM.) DUNEDIN t January 29. The University Senate to-day received a report on behalf of the Agricultural Committee, containing recommendations with a view to encouraging students to enter on a course in agriculture, .and making the degree of Bachelor of Agriculture more popular than at present. The recommendations were adopted, and referred to the Statutes Committee. The ' Finance Committee reported that during the past year the revenue had increased by £404, and the expenditure by £364. The expenditure "viiich required to be most closely watched, was that on examinations, but the increase in this item was more than counter-oalanced by the increases in examination fees. On Mr Allen's motion the report was adopted, with a recommendation that ten Junior University scholarships should be awarded in 1910.
