ASHBURTON

The committee of the Ashburton Amateur Swimmina Club intends presenting a petition to the Borough Council asking that body to call a public meeting to discuss the question of erecting municinal swimming baths. A meeting of the committee of the Ashburton Amateur Cycling and Athletic Association was held on Friday evening. It was decided to approve of the grant of two guineas towards the expenses of tihe Ashburton representatives at the chamoionshm meeting. Messrs Harner, McDonald, and the secretary were appointed a subcommittee to confer with St. Stephen's Floral Fete Committee. It was decided that a 100 yds and 440 yds flat handicap be held on February 10th, the arrangements to be left in the hands of Messrs McDonald, L. Hill, and C. S. Harner.
