Tlie monthly meeting of tlie Christchurch Hospital Board W3S held yesterday afternoon, there being presentMessrs J. Ingram (chairman), F. Horrell, J. Wolfe. C. Allison, T. Gapes, C. D. .Morris, J. H. Davison, C. Ccok, T. D. Boag, J. Storey, T. X. Iloreley, and W. Dunlop. The electrical engineer, in his report to tho chairman of the House Committee, stated that a test showed that most of the circuits .ere giving a very good insulation test. He again drew the attention of tho committeo to the obsolete distribution boards that wero in use. With the exception of the Marks Ward and Theatre, they were right close against the wall, so that it was impossible to &cc the condition of tiie wires. Should rain get through tho windows, it thou ran down tlie well, getting into tho marble, and spoilt the insulation test. He submitted a plan of proposed addition to laundry buiklings for the erection and equipment of the disinfector. He also made a proposal that a new copper utensil for boiling water and cooking milk should be given a test in a ward kitchen. The House Committee recommended that new distribution boards .11 connection with the electric system be provided; that the plan of the proposed addition to the laundry builu ings to contain the disinfector be approved ; that the proposal to ins tai water heaters in the wank bo approved subject to one being first installed proving successful; the committee recommended that arrangements be mado for laying the foundation stone of the new wards. The report was adopted, tho Building Committee and the Ladies' Committee to confer with the old committee in regard to the ceremony of laying thc foundation stone. The House Surgeon reported that during November 10l patients were admitted to the Hospital, 144 were discharged, and 14 died, leaving 126 remaining on the 30th; 124 operations were performed under anaesthetics, and there were 873 attendances in the outpatient department. A new dietary scale for the patients had been prepared and approved by the honorary visiting staff, and a hospital pharmacopoeia was being drawn up.
