THURSDAY COMPETITIONS. The Thursday competitions, inaugurated by the Canterbury Centre, commenced yesterday, four greer.s being occupied. The matches are confined to two rinks from each club. Tho following are the results: — OPAWA v. UNITED. Opaw_ and United met on Ihe United green, and the home club won by ten points. Brenneck, Archer, W. Coles, Morrison (s) 20. Totals—United 51, Opawa 31. SYDENHAM v. EDGEWARE. This match was pl-ye'd at Edgewnre green, and resulted as follows (Sydenham rinks being given first): — Williams Wheeler, C. Taylor, J. Spiller (s) 25, v. Lord, Weir, Johnston, J. Moore Firman, Mulcock, Howison, W. Spiller (s) 19, v. Hyde. Mat son, Dent, B. Mooro (s) 21. Totals—Sydenham 44, Edgeware 33. SYDENHAM v. LINWOOD. Sydenham and Linwood xinks met on the Sydenham green. The game resulted in a narrow win for Sydenham by two points. The following arc the scores (Sydenham rinks being given first): — Fisk, Marks, Chegwin, Skelton (s) 13, v. M-tthews, Hilson, Snell, Fraser (s) 21. M*ddren, Miller, East, Scott (s) 23, v. Matheaon, Brown, Cherry, Johnston (s) 13. Totals—Sydenham 36, Linwood 34. CANTERBURY v. ST. ALBANS. Playing on the Canterbury green, Canterbury defeated St. Albans by two points. The following ore the scores (Canterbury being mentioned first in each case): — T. Halliburton, W. Wetson, R. On the St. Albans green a club champion rink match was played on Wednesday evening. Tho holders (W. J. Crcsswell, Hobbs, Le Cren. and Parsons) were beaten by the challenging rink (Davidson, Brown, Nicholson, and Johnston), the holders being three down on the last head. McGallon's rink, the holders of the Throp badgcß (Sydenham club), again defended themselves from a challenging rink, skipped by Spiller, and won by 20 points to 17, after a very interesting game. Tho next challengers will be Mitchell's rink. St. Albans and Sydenham, by mutual arrangement, will not meet in tho A pennant on Saturday, but a friendly club match will be nlayed on the Sydenham green. The following will represent Linwood against United in the B pennant on Saturday next, at 2.15, on the Linwood green: — T. A. Cherry, C. J. Morrison, F. Redpath, J. R. Brunt (skip); J. Price, J.
