The process is of vast importance to Germany. LORD KITCHENER. Lord Kitchener has arrived at Shanghai and inspected the troops. He proceeds to Nanking, and subsequently visits the Manchurian battlefields. EUROPEAN FOOD SUPPLIES. NEW YORK, October 5. Mr Burrows, vice-president of Messrs Libby and Co., Chicago, states that the armies of the European Powers were 'never so short of war rations as they are now, and that if war was declared to-morrow, America would be unable to assist much with food supplies. BALKANS TREASON TRIAL. (Received October 6th, 10.10 p.m.) LONDON, October 6. The treason trial at Agram resulted in twenty-two of the accused being acquitted and thirty-one condemned to terms of penal servitude ranging from five to twelve years. The charge was seeking to make Croatia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina into a Serb State under the Servian King.
