THE DANISH MINISTRY.
HUGH PETITION TO THE KING. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. COPENHAGEN, October 5. A petition bearing 140,000 signatures was presented to the King of Denmark, asking him to order that tho allegations against M. Alberti, ex-Minister of Justice, be investigated by a State Court. The petitioners also deprecated the inclusion of M. Christensen, exPremier, who resigned at the time of the Alberti frauds in October last, as Minister for Defence in the present .Ministry. Tho King refused to be interviewed, and deplored the suspicions raised against M. Christensen. The defalcations of Alberti were said to have amounted to nearly £1,000,000. M. Christensen was Premier at the time, and he was compelled by pressure of public opinion to resign, xhe correspondent of "The Times" reported that no one doubted that he was an honest man,"but«he was too far compromised politically to remain in office. The previous spring he had publicly affirmed tho honesty of bis Minister, and a few months later had borrowed £80,000 for him through public channels. A- new Ministry was formed in October, in which M. Christensen was not included.
