There were eleven sUrters. The Grand Prix ia one of the richest stakes in the world. Ita prise of 12,000 soys is subscribed by the City of Paris, which gives 10,000 sots, end the five, great railway companies, who .contributo 2000 aovs, besides which there is a sweepstake of 40 soys each. If the winner, as is the case with Verdun, is foaled in France, his breeder receives an additional 800 soys.
