PRIZE COMPETITION. Prize Competition for School Children from "4th to 6th Standards. The Pioneer Jam and Fruit Canning Factory, Retreat road. Avonside, are offering three prises—lst £1 Is, 2no. 10s, 3rd' os—for the boys or girls who can guess the nearest number of tins of canned fruit contained in their store. All answers to be sent in before Moy 7th. W. W. Charters. Esq., hon. secretary Canterbury Industrial Association, has kindly consented to act as judge. The factory will be open for inspection from 10 to 12 a.m.. 2 to o p.m.; Saturday, 12 noon.
