At the lust meeting of the Waimate County Council the Chairman (Mr Rhodes) gave notice of motion for next meeting that- t.he engineer be nskeil to report on Sanf'yiprd crossing, Esk YaL'i-y, with o view of seeing what could be d.">>ic to avert the continual injury to the toad caused by flooding of the creek. The Land Office intimated readiness to pay accumulated thinv> am* fourths, amounting to £2216 15s lOd. to be expended i:i accordance with approved proposals on road works for the benefit of the hinds from which the money* were received. The tender of .Lime; Menzies f£lsl) for alterations to the County Hall was accepted. One case- of inf.-ctiens disease was rejKirtod from H'.ikataramea Riding.
