SWIMMING.
CANTERBURY CENTRE,
A meeting of the Canterbury Centro of tho New Zealand Swimming Association was held last evening. Mr H. Williams presided. Tho Secretary CUr E. Eldridge) stated that satisfactory arrangements had been made for the continuation of the polo tournament on alternate Thursdays, at the Tepid Bath. It was decided to proceed with the tournament on Thursday next. A protest was lodged by "Mr W. Russell, on behalf of the Sydenham Club, against the decision of tho referee in the East Christchurch-Sydenham polo match. A goal scored by Sydenham was disallowed, and he stated he could bring witnesses to prove that the goal was fairly scored, and should have been allowed. After hearing the statement of the referee (Mr \V. Johnston), it was decided that the match be replayed.
