ASHBURTON
At the Ashburton Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr V. G. Day, S.M., George Watson was ordered to pay 13s and Langton McGuinness a total of lis, for failing to register their dogs. Frank Morcan, on a charge of riding a bicycle after dark without a lighted lamp was fined 10s, and 7s costs. Thomas Pennal, on two charges of allowing cattle to graze on tho public roads in the Longbeach district, was fined 10s and costs for each offence. In a civil case,NNcrw r Zealand Farmers' Co-operativo Association (Mr Kennedy) v. Alfred Lee, a claim for £1 10s 6d, judgment was given for plaintiff, with costs 6s, In Thomas McDowell (Mr Crisp) v. J. Adams, a claim for £8 Is 7d, judgment was given for nlaintiff, by default, with costs £2 2s 6d, The case Catherine Stovens (Mr Kennedy) v. Thomas Stevens (Mr Acland), a claim for £27, was aydjourned to May 7th. In Donald Cameron (Mr Acland) v. William Dillow (Mr Purnell), a claim for £5 14s 6d, judgment was given for the amount paid in (£1 2s 4d). Costs were allowed the defendant "to the amount of £2 7s. Two juvenilo cases were dealt with, when two lads were charged with the theft of two cornsacks, and One of tho pair with stealing a fishing-rod. One of the boys was reprimanded and discharged, and the case against the other boy was adjourned for a month.-
