Rain, commenced to fall in GornJdino on Thursday evening, and continued through tht> and nil day yesterday. The showers uero frequently very ■ heavy, an<l must have done a lot of good in eradicating the turnip blight, althouph in &ome cases tho rain has come too late to save the crops. If no frost sots in, tho grass will now come awny, and feed, which had becomevury poor, will be more plentiful. Tho rivers in tho district had fallen very low, and rain whs badly needed to fill the watorraoes. (PIIESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) WESTPORT. March 19. After one of the driest spells on record oti tho West Const, a splendid rain fell throughout last night and continued at intervals to-day.
