Hackenschmidt is now in London, while Gotch is at Buffalo, U.S.A., whore hfhad been negotiating with Mahmond, the latest "Turkish Terror," to wrestle next month. Mahmoud bas be-en proving himself to bo ono of the bestwrestlers now showing. Ho has maelo 'rattles' of all his white antagonists up to the present, and Gotch, if he e-ar-ries out his undertaking to meet him, will want to be very sure of his own powers, for the agreement stipulates that both Hackenschmiclt and Gotch uiii_t arrive in Melbourne unbeaten men. It is a far cry from March to .November, and anythiet- may happen meanwhile; but should Ro principals in this greet trial of strength and skill meet each other in a finish struggle in Melbourne, the interest taken i:i it by the sporting world will be tremendous and even more wielespreael than in the recent l>osing championship. Wrestling, properly conducted and controlled by an impartial referee, is the most spectacular of all man to man exercises. cnel of all existing styles. Lancashire! othorwi-'o catch-as-catch-con. affords the greatest variety of work, and provides the most exciting situations. There is nothing whatever in props-rly supervised Lancashire wrestling that any person can take exception "to. It is essential'y an exercise in which ski'!, strength," courage and resourcefulness alone prevail."
