LITTLE RIVER.

At the last meeting of the I/ittle River Road Board an application was received from Mr F. J. Shadbolt for work on Kinloch roads. It vras resolved that ilr Shadbolt be employed as requested. Relative to the proposed meeting of ratepayers to consider the advisableness of seceding from tlie Akaroa County Council, it was decided "that a postponed meeting bo held at Littlo River on 13th inst. Tho Board then eat as a Local Board of Health. A letter was received from th© Minister for Railways declining to put in a septic tank at the railway station at Little River. a& the Board of Health and Railway Department considered an invert culvert sufficient. It was resolved that Mr "Rhodes, M.P., be asked to point out to the Minister that the Board was of opinion that the "Department was unacquainted with tho seriousness _ef the case, and to ask for a personal inspection by Ministers.
