RAILWAY CONCESSIONS.

WELLINGTON, January 28. The following railway" concessions are gazetted:—Free secou- class quarterly tickets available for distances not. exceeding 60 miles may ho issued) to school pupils not over 19 years of age as follows: (1) To pupils attamdiing the public primary schools from railway stations where there is no primary school in the vicinity, and only to tho station- in the vicinity of th© nearest primary school; (2) to pupils who are hoid'ers of scholarships tenabte at a district high school or secondary schoolas defined by "The Education Act, 1908," to enable them to attend any such district high school or/secondary school; (3) to pupils of secondary schools- as defined by "The Ed-cation Act, 1908." and of the secondary partments of district high schools to enablo them to attend one or other of such schools, whichever shall ho the nearest; (4) to pupils attending private primary or secondary schools -object to inspection, in accordance with section 170 of "The Education Act, 1908; (5) to holders of free places at a technical school recognised' under the regulations for manual and technical instruction; (6) to pupils on the roH of a public or private primary or secondary" school or of a district high school tavelhng to attend classes held at especially equipped manual training centres and recognisexl under the regulations for manual and technical instruction.
