FIRES.
A largo unoccupied boardinzhousp at Winslow, known as tho Winslow Hotel, was totally destroyed by fire on Tuesday night. The"property is owned by ~th.c n estate of tho "late Thomas Daly, r qf and it is believed -that it is. not insured. The origin of the fire is a mystery.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.-) DUNEDIN, January 27. Damage-estiipated at about £400 was done by fire in tho Unipn Steam Ship Company's workshop at Port Chalmers this morning. The fire was suppressed soon after its discovery, but the plumbers' shop suffered considerably, while the electrical shoo was damaged by the water.
