-THAMES, January 27. The by-election takes place to-mor-row. TherV aro four candidates out, Mr Lucas Government candidate), Messrs Taylor and Rhodes (Government supporters), and Mr F. H. Haselden, who unsiiccossfullv contested the- Ohinemuri seat at the general elections (selected Opposition candidate). .Mr Dcoblo (Labourite), who opposed th© Hon. J. A. MoGowan last November, is supporting }t r L uca ,«i- S candidature. The election is not exciting very great interest, ond the general opinion is that there will be a second ballot
