The gold and silver medals offered annually by tho Associated Board l of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music to those candidates at the local centre examinations who gain highest honours marks in each grade have been awarded as follow for the year 1908:— ADVANCED GRADE. Gold medal: Dorothy J. Cowie, Dunedin, pianoforte, 137 marks (teacher, Mr A. VaLiis). Silver TnednLs: Muriel Cooper, Masterton, pianoforte, 136 marks (teacher. Mr A. B. Wallace).: Phyllis P. Hanity, Masterton, pianoforte. 136 marks (teacher, St. Bride's Convent). Next in order of merit: Aimee Champion, Dunedin, pianoforte. 135 marks (teacher. Mrs 1/eri, L.R.A.M. and A.R.A.M.). INTERMEDIATE GRADE. Gold medal: Annie L. Gibbs, Wellington; harmony. 1-13 marks (teacher, .St. Mary's Convent.). Silver modal: Kathleen R. Levi, Dunedin. pianoforte. 112 marks (teacher, Mrs Levi, L.R.A.M. and A.R.A.M.). Next in order of merit : Cecilia Dwyer, Wellington, harmony, IU marks (teacher, St. Mary's convent) • Annie W. M. Gkisse, Dunedin. pianol forte, 137 marks.
