RICHMOND.
A meeting of householders of Richmond was he'd last night, to elect a now School Committee, owing to the alteration of the school districts ol Richmond and Linwood, coitsexiuent on the opening of a new school in North Linwood. About 80 householders, including 20 ladiai, were present, and Mr J. A. Flesher was voted to the chair.
Before proceeding to the election of tbe committee certain allegations were laid against tho old committee by Mr R. S. Ward, an es-member, who accused them of illegally transacting business.
The Chairman and Mr Langford gave a full ex-planation of the position, and the meeting unanimously approved of tiVe Committee's aotion in voting a sum of money out of the bath account towards a presentation being made to the first assistant master, who had left after "being 15 years at the school. The election of the Committee out of 16 nominations resulted as follows: — Messrs Flesher, Bassett, Langford, Harris, Hughes, Lawrence, Hilson, Young, and King. At a meeting of th© newly-elected Committee, held nfterwnrds. it was decided to hold the annual picnic on February 19-hj at Little River.
