United Press Association—yß Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. KILLERS v. WHALES. SYDNEY, September 29. A fierce. battle between killere and whales has taken. place at Eden Bay, A school of killers drove two whales ashore. The killers were then driven off and the whales secured.
ANTI-TRUST ACT. MELBOURNE, September 29. The cases against Huddart, Parker and Company and Appleton, managing director of tho firm, for refusing to answer questions under the Anti-Trust Act, resulted in a fine of £5, with £5 5s costs, being inflicted in each case. The eyidence disclosed that the firm acted on the advice of solicitors, who claimed that there was no legal obliga--tiou to answer the questions, and that tho Act was ultra vires, and suggested the case bo made a test one. The latter suggestion was adopted, and the matter will now be taken into the High Court, both parties desiring a final and early settlement. *» CAPTAIN'S CERTIFICATE SUSPENDED.
