OBITUARY.
MR MICHAEL ,HART.
Mr Michael Hart, second son of the Iflto Mr Michael Brennan Hart, died on Friday night, aged sixty-three. The deceased gentleman, who was born in London in 1845. came to Canterbury with his family "in. the Crceey, ono of the first four ships, in 1850. After completing his education at Christ's College, he was articled as a law student with the late Mr Thomas Smith Duncan. Ho passed his examination as a solicitor, but was unabio to be admitted owing to a technical defect in the articles. He subsequently became managing clerk for Mr Duncan and for the" firm of Duncan and: Jameson, j a position he hold for some years. After the death of Mr Duncan, Mr Hert- wtvnt into business for himself as a legal agent. At the time cf his death he was eixty-throo years of ago and he leaves a widow, ono married daughter and three sons. The "StamdaTd" records ,th& death of Mr W. A. Rowe, headmaster of the Otautau Stato_ School. The deceased had been in tlio serviico of the Southland Education Board sine© 1878.
