WAIMATE.
Afr J. Thorn delivered an address in £he Oddfellows' Hall on Wednesday night, about 90 people being present. Mr Richard Hutt presided. A motion was carried resolving to establish a branch of the Now Zealand Political Labour League at Waimate, and to accept its platform and constitution. At an after meeting : members of the loagnto were enrolled. * _ -_ A meeting was held in Knox Church Sunday School on Saturday afternoon in connection with the anniversary of the granting -of women's suffrage, about 80 (mostly women) being present. Miss McCarthy, treasurer of the New Zealand W.C.T.TJ. presided, and was supoorted by Mrs Graham, president, and Mra Jas. Nind, vice-president, of the Waimato Branch of the W.C.T.Tj. mention was made of the eervico> rendered to the cause of women's suffrage by the late Sir John Hall, the late Mr A., Saunders. and Mrs Shepherd. At the close of the proceedrngs the hope was expressed that the function would be an annual one.
