SNOWFALL IN NORTH OTAGO.
(SrICIAL TO "THE HUEM.")
OAMARtr, July 14. There has been a further heavy fall, of snow on the high country of North Otago. At Omarama there were several inches of snow, and the hills around Kurow. as well as the Kakanui range, received a coating that-came well down.
On several of the runs the loss must be heavy, as snow has been lying thick for a week or more. At Otekaike there is snow on all. the higher runs, and the settlers are entertaining a food deal of anxiety about their ocks. In the meantime nothing can be done to rescue those that are snowed in.
Along the coast between Oamaru and Hampßen, and northwards to Timaru, a good many paddocks are still water-logged, but stock did not suffer much by the recent heavy rains. ,
