KAIAPOI.

At the Kaiapoi Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr V. G. Day. S.M., J. H. Morley and Co. sued the executors of the late Geo. G. Stead for £10, being tho amount of a cheque, payment of which had been stopped. The cheque was originally paid in respect of an accident which happened on the North road, in which Morley's son, while riding a bicycle, collided M-ith a motor-car owned by the lato Mr Stead. Tlio defence was that tho executors recognised no moral or leeral liability; but the cheque was sent at the late Mr Stead's request, and M-hen Morley intimated taking legal proceeelings, payment M-as stopped. Judgment was si yon for defendants. For drunkenness G. A. Brandon M-as fined 5-s, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment.
