RIFLE SHOOTING.
The third practice competition in anticipation of the "Daily Mail" Overseas Challenge Cup contest took ptooe at Redcliffs on Saturday, at 2MI. JIM and 600 yd?. The latter rang* was fired first, and a choppy south-west wind made good scoring very difficult. When the 500 yds started the conditions were -more favourable, and the scores improved considerably. Sergt. Murphy and Gantain Hewlett were top scorers, with JS each, the former registering a possible it 500 yds. Tho best scores of about forty competitors were:—
