HeiHConditiom is eerioue. ./ . . ' WAiNUANUI, May 1. Bctnefield, the victim of last night's railway accident, died shortly after midnight. WELLINGTON, May 1. Mr .T. L. Joll. a well-known Taranaki resident, who received a serious injury to ibis head by a fall from a tramcar on Easter Monday, died at the hospital to-day. At the inquest Philip Myers, who knew the deceased personally, and was travelliiykurith him on the oar, said that Joll jumped out as the car nearod Woodward street, in a direction opposite to which the car was going. He fell heavily on his bead. Witness did not think that Joll ramg the bell; he simply got up and walked off the car ac if it were stationary. Witness saw nothing that would indicate carelessness on the part. of the motorman or conductor of the car. Joll was probably thinking of something else, ana just walked out of the car. 1 The jury returned a verdict in accordance with the medical testimony, and: found that no blame was attachable to anybody.
DUNEDIN, May 1. The body of the boy Edgar McPhie, who was drowned on Easter Saturday in the harbour collision, was found to-day dose to the scene of the accident. The position of the arms in* dicated that tihe boy had been drowned while trying to remove hie jersey. (Mrs Connish, wife of the Kcenseo of the Stirling Hotel, died suddenly this afternoon.
