The circular advocated appointing a Canterbury Association "ticket" as the management committee of the New Zealand Association, but he considered the latter association should not bo .courtrolled iby one particular body if it was to control the sport throughout the I>ominioTk Theire were many ossoointioins affiliated , to the- Now Zeaia'nd Association and be fail<?dl to see why that body should bn dictated to in regard to the election.. Exception had .been taken to tilie fact that he was not a player, but ho would point out that hi* was one of the founders of , ihe Association, and, he ventured to say ho took as keen am interest in liockey -as anyone who played, the. gariw. IHo considered tliet ho. had not bewi. atI tackod openly, and in statiing ttoia ho was speaking for t'hfl executive, of which he was chairm-m. That executive, he maintained, had always conducted rts d'eliboi-atio.ns. in «. manner that would bo in the best interests of the sport. Mr Mansorv said that as president of the Canterbury Hockey Association, he wished to inform the meeting that his Association had nothing to do with the circuilaT. The incident then dropped.
