NEW BRIGHTON.

At New Brighton Mr P. G. Withers presided, and thero wero 48 householders present. Tho annual report, which was adopted, showed the attendance had increased to 320, entitling the school to the services of another pupil teacher. The Board had. also provided additional accommodation. Sixteen candidates were 'nominated, and the following were elected:-— Messrs J. B. Scoble, F. Paul, H. Hanham, Rev. H. T. Purchas, J. Caygill, H. Hawker, A. P. Hopkins, H. Greenfield, and G. D. Macfarlane. It was resolved that the Board be asked to make the doors of all public schools, open outwards. It was also decided that in.future the/Inspector's annual report should he incorporated with the School Committee's annual report

At a subsequent meeting of the committee, Mr.J. Caygill was elected chairman, and Mr F. Paul was re-elected honorary secretary. It was decided to hold meetings on the first Tuesday in each month.
