OPAWA.

There was an excellent attendance ot householders at this meeting, including a literal sprinkling of ladies. Mr W. Broadhuret (chairman of the outgoing committee) presided. The annual report disclosed a roll number of 317 pupils, with an average attendance of 274. as against 20S tor the preceding year. The Bible class was continued on Wednesdays and Fridays for half on hour before school begnn, and tho average attendance was well maintained. The total receipts amounted to £131 2s 4d, of which £110 12s had been expended, leaving a credit balance of £15 10s 4d. A most satisfactory report from tho Inspector upon tho school was also read and adopted.

Tho following new committee was elected :—The Rev. H. Williams, Messrs Broadhurst, Gudsell, It. Wright, McHarg, Baunton, Trorise, G. Collins and Geo. Scott.

When tho Tesult of the ballot was announced, Mr B. P. Manhire (who was not a candidate) requested that the number of votes obtained by each candidate bo disclosed. The Chairman stated that by the Act this course was not necessary,' Mr Manhire replying to the effect that ho intended to test tho question by appealing to the Education Board on the point whetlier the election could not bo upset on account ot" the omission.
