NEW YORK, April 23. The Grand Jury acquitted Ryan and the others in connocticai with tbe New York traction eoandaJs.
The Now York correspondent of "The Times" reported on September 26th that, by means of a petition 'declaring the New York City Railway inso-lvent. the tramway lines comprising' the metroTJoiitan street rnHway system had gone into too hands of receivers, Messrs Adria,n Johne and D. Robinson. The examination of the books of the Inter-boroagh Metropolitan Company, the holding concern for the whole traction system of Manhattan, had already led to the discovery of records of payments to a very prominent politician. Snteotruenfcly, a cablegram dated October 10th, was received, stating that iMr Anthony Brady had stated m ovidonce that a comparatwely worthless franohnse, called ihx> m Fulton and Wall street *<imes Railway, existing only on paper had been sold to the Intor-bojouah iiefcropoliUun Company for £200 000 Brady had received £50,000, and ' the balance had boen shared amongst Messrs Ryan, Dolnn. W. L. Elkins. H Witiicy P. "Widenor, and Messrs Moorland Sohleyj brokers.
