At the Loyal Rangiora Lodge of Oddfellows' meeting on Monday evening Bro. S. Lewis' was the recipient oi a Past Grand's sash. Ihe presentation was made by P.P.G.M. Bro. J. Marshall on behalf of tlie ..ii .aponga Lodge. Two candidates were proposed for membership.
The weekly meeting.of- the literary and Debating Socety* was held on Tuesday evening, the vice-chairman, Mr' O. Cox,, prosiding. The syllabus for the session, comprising twenty-five subjects, was submitted and approved of, with some slight alterations. A .discussion took place as to the admission of ladies, and it was resolved tllat onethird of the meetings-be open to ladies, the commititee to allot the nigh-—., on tlio syllabus. Two new. ; members' were proposed, and Mr Murdoch,, _un v was; elected assistant' secretary.
