In connection with the Second Handicap Tiot at tho cams club's meeting, a protest was lodged against Dictinc on tho ground that after one ridor had ridden her in tho preliminary, another had ridden her in the race. Tho protest lodged by tho owrer of the aeoond horse Obiro, W. J. Chisna.ll, had been upheld, l -and an appeal had been put in 'by James Uray, owner ot Dieting. Tho club's action wm endorsed. An appeal was received from \V. Travers, owner oi Brown Jack, againit tha decision of the etewards of the Heddon Bush fcports Club in disqualifying his horse th* ground that tho horso had not bead" enitered in timeC Tho evidence showed that it had been the practice in tho past for the hatdicapper to receive nominations, but the secretary of the club statod that this year he had given the handicapper no 'authority to take nominations. It was decided to refer the case back to the oiub for. iniormation on various points. Tho action of tho vice-president in giving the Wutkaiio Trotting Club permission to extend tho thno for receiving entries, on condition that the consent of nominators was obtained, waa approved. An' application for a grant from the Provideirt JJ'und was declined, tho applicant" not being the holder of a professional license. ( " Programmes aa passed by the Executive, 1 , together with those of the Otahuhu *nd New Brighton Clubs, were approved. The Foreign Horse Committee recommended the issue of .certificates for-Sister, San Toy, and Minnie B. on receipt of. the necessary documents. The report waa approved. Licen&ca as recommended by the Licensing Committee were approved. . T. B. Mortimer's application was refused. On the recommendation of the committee, A. " WilEon "was gran-ted from the Provident Fund £10 in addition to a sum to cover hospital or medical expenses. The Pluinpton Park Club forwarded a fin* of £2 imposed on W. Huston for interference in a race. ' It was decided to ask tbo club to forward a copy of tho evidence taken, and xo refer the matter to tho Licensing Committee. - -The President reported tlhat during a visit to the West Coast he, had been able to attend tho first day of the Greymouth Trotting Club's Summer Meeting. He was pfleaecd to say tihat the meeting had bean admirably oanduoted, and the sports was evidently very popular on the Coast. Mr Pollock reported that "She Hutt Valley Club, which had been working under difficulties for some time past, bad held a very successful meeting on Dsoemher 26th and 28th last.
