Inspector Cullen has received a telegram from Helensvillo, stating that William Stuart murdered Edward West, yesterday afternoon, at Kankapakapa. Stuart has been arrested. Later. Later details show that th© tragedy was the result of a gumdiggers' quarrel. William Stuart, a man about 60 years of age, killed Edward West, aged 45, by chopping him with an axe.
