SYDNEY, January 4. Tho "Sydney Morning II era Id" estimates .tho wheat yield at 8,632,000 bushels, with an average of a littlo over five bushels to tho aero.

VICTORIAN BUTTER EXPORTS. MELBOURNE, January 4. Tho oversea butter exports for last year amounted to nearly 3,000,0001bs less than tho previous year, tho decrease in the value being £91,184.

Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from thcr London office, dated January 2nd:—"The butter market is firm. The Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports into the United Kingdom for the week ending 28th ulto. amounted to 62,000 cwt. as compared with 58.000 cwt for tl»o corresponding period of 1906. We quote finest 118s, unsaltod lips. Thero is a good demand for inferior qualities. We do not expect any important ohango in prices for the present."

HORSE SALES. At Tattorsall'a on Saturday thero waa an entry of 45 horses, mostly medium sorts, and there was only n limited demand. Light draughts made £20 to £30, Riddle and harness horses £12 to £15, und hacks £10.

POULTRY. There wero good entries of poultry at Saturday's market* and a ready sale at high rates: —Hens made 2s to 2s lid, pullets 4s. besx. roosters 4« Gd to 7s SHI, smaller 2s fid to 4s 3d; chickens Is to Is 2Jd; host ducks 4s to 6s 9d, smaller 2s Sd io .% 90; goose 5a to 5s lid, nil at- per pair.

PIGS. There was a fairly large yarding of pigs at Saturday's market, and all kinds M>ld up to late rates, suckers and weaners making lis to 15s. and stores 16s to 25s

KIRWF.E. On Friday, at Kirwec market, about COO- sheep and lambs were penned, nearly nil stores. There was only v •limited attendance.
