THE OUTPUT OF HEMP.
(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, January 4. Referring to the statement that there is a tremendous falling-off in the output of hemp from the Auckland province. Mr Johnson, Government grader, informed a '"Star" representative that the output from the Auckland grading stores for 1907 was far above the average, and totalled 47,750 bales, weighing WOO tons, and worth approximately £230.000. Tho output of tow was 2000 tons, worth approximately £12.000. bringing the total value up to £233.000. The Auckland province is turning out one-third of the total yearly hemp output of the Dominion.
