(PRESS ASSOCIATION- TELE OB AM.) WELLINGTON, January 5. Three senior cricket matches commenced on December 14th were concluded 3 - esterday, in excellent weather and on good wickets. Old Boys beat Gas Company on the first innings. Tlio latter's first innings had yielded 168 and Old Boy& had last three wickets for 93 runs" on the first day. Old Boys carried their total to 233 (Tucker 59. Moaigko-u 47. MeGiil 59, J. P. Blacklock 30). Gas Company in their sec-
ond innings scored 142 (Church 33 not out. Burke 25). Old Bore in the second innings scored 25 for one wicket. Midland had made 131 in their first innings and Phoenix had lost eight for 76. Phoenix were got out for 94. Gibbes making 27. Midland deelared_their second innings closed with 187 for three wickets (Bruce 100 not out. Williams 33. Hiekson 20). Phcenix, wanting 225 to win, scored 156 for two wickets (Waters 85, Dakin 521. Midland thus won on the first innings. Petone had an easy win over Newtown. Petono in the first innings scored 307 (Isherwood 01. Hargreaves 48 not out. Barber 34), and Newtown in their first innings scored 108. and in tho second 145 for eight wicket* (G. Day 52 not out, Tilyard 44).
