(press association telegram.) AUCKLAND, January 4. The following team has been picked to represent the New Zealand teachers ogajnet tho New South Wales teachers in a match to be played hero on Tuesday and Wednesday next:—W. Thomas (South Canterbury). T. Broder (Wellington), Holland" (Wanganui), 11. B. Lusk (Canterbury).,E. Murdoch (Auckland). Fanning* (Wellington), A. J. Shepherd (Auckland), F. J. Ohlsou. (Auckland). W. Braithwaite. (Auckland), R. Darroch (Wellington), and N. R. Jacobsen (Auckland). A match will take place at Lancaster Park io-d'ay, commencing at 11.30 a.m., between a team representing tho fleet (now in Lyttelton) and a Christchurch team. The band of H.M.S. Powerful will perform during tho afternoon. Tho following are the. teams: —Representing the fleet: Flag-Captain Halsey, Lieutenant Fanshawo, Lieutenant Danhy, Lieutenant Evans, Lieutenant Eardiev Wilmot. Lieutenant Barker, R.M.L.1.. Mr Bedford, Mr Spalding. Mr Taffard, and Lieutenant Brown. Representing Chrietchurch: Rev. H. L. Blamires, J. Bruges. H. Buttenvorth, H. D. Goldsmith, W. I. K. Jennings. Dr. Orchard, F. C. Raphael, G. E.Rhodes, J. AY. Thornton, G. T. Weston, and K. Williams. At the cricket, match under the auspices of the South Canterbury Association, played on tho A&hburton Domain between tho Terauka and Ashburton teams, Ashburton made 125 runs. The highest- scorers were:—P. L. Orr 16. C. Denshire 20. 11. Kennn 34, K. F. Nicoll 22. Temuko responded with 163. Thase who made double, figures were: — S. Foster 44. J. Me-teon. 10, J. McKellar 27, G. Fisher 27, and W. Reeves 20.
