CASUALTIES.

Two members of an Ashburton and Christchurch concert company (Messrs Farquhar Young and W. Anderson) who accompanied the Ashburton Pipo Band on a visit to Nelson during the Christmas holidays, had a narrow escape from serious injury during their stay. According to the "Nelson Evening Mail," the two men wero driving to Tho Port in a landau, when the horses became frightened. Th* driver went to the horses' heads, but the animals bolted, wtih the result that the landau was soon overturned. Mr loung jumped out, and endeavoured to prevent the vehicle falling on his friend, who was lying face downwards on the road. One of the horses then swerved, and kicked Mr Young. The injuries, although painful, were not of a very serious nature.
