MAGISTRATES COURT.

Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided at tho Magistrate's Court yesterday. Judgment was given for plaintiff, with costs by default, in tho following cases:— J. B. Clarkson and Co., Ltd. (Mr Cunningham) v E. F. Kavanagh, £7; same v E. J. Beker, JC3; W. H. Unwin and Co. (Mr Cunningham) v G. Newton, £1 7s; A. Smith and Co. v Herbert Winterburn. £(5 19s; Bowron Bros, v W. Halford, £3 12s 6d; F. B. Hughes v E. J. Foster. 18s; John O'Carroll v Edward Tisch, £4 13s lOd. Beath and Co., Ltd., v Benjamin Streeter, claimed £5 10s tid under a judgment summons. The Magistrate declined to make an order after hearing the judgment debtors statement. F. B. Hughes v J. H. .Sutherland, claimed £2 5s for photographs ordered by defendant. The plaintiff, a photographer, stated that defendant asked him to take a r.umher of photographs at his wedding in September last, but when the photographs wero completed, he did not call tor them. Tho defendant stated that ho had agreed to have the work done at a much cheaper rate, which he was at present willing to pay. Tho Magistrate, after looking at thoj photographs, g«ve judgment for plaintiff.
