DUNEDIN MARKETS.
(SFECIAT. TO -THE PBBSS.") DUNEDIN, November 22. Tho potato market is very much depressed. The largo quantity held in the various stores for this »time of the year is out of all proportion to the present* consumption. So far as sales aro concerned, either for shipment or local business, it is extremely- difficult to give an idea of the state of the market. Ono firnv had a consignment of 200 bags from Melbourne, and these aro being reshipped, -for the reason that they would not realise freightand charges. The price of horsefoed is exceedingly high at present, and this mufet be a matter of serious moment to owners and small traders. A member of one large firm remarked to-day that it cost them 22s a week for feed for each of their horses, while at ordinary tiracs it only cost them 11a or 12s. The quantitiea of Australian flour coming into tlie Dominion is said to hare been ono of the causes which
forwd a reduction in tho_ price of floor. Wheat, at any. rate, » not reported to have gone doivn in price.
