Tha last meeting of tho Ellcsmero Road lioard was attended by Messrs J. Storry (chairman). John I.ochhead, John McMillan, John Gilbert, ana Malcolm Dixon. i.egaiding the application of the Southbridae town Hoard for a contribution for tho upkeep of tho Southhrideo roads, owing to Ellesnicrc Road Board traffic, it was decided to refer the matter to uio Schvyn Road Boards' Association for flint, body's opinion on its merits. -110 clerk reported mat a King's lightning bird-trap had been received, and was doing good work. Messrs Jonathan Sowden and H. Parr is, of Dunsandel, wrote asking ilie Board to uso its influence in stopping tho practice of tho railway authentic, removing lariro <|urmtitics of shingle from the 6011t.il sidio of Sclwyn river-bed, near iSf-hvyu bridge, to the injury of their properties and the public roads. The clerk wa.s instructed to communicate with the railway authorities. Tlie following tenders were accepted:—lor clearing willows on Rotheray's frontage, Drain road, P. i.lcfirath, £3; tor cleaning drain, flartnell's frontage, at Provsc.'3, Samuel Young, Is 3d per chain. Accounts for £127 Is 8d wero passed.
