FOUR LADS BEFORE THE COURT. Harris and Co., and stealing pipes, P»"*f. md cigarette cases to the value of t>l 9e 6d?on May 19th, at Chnstchurch breaking and entering the premises ot Gordon and Goteh, and stealing postcards and books, valued at ss; .on Anecst 11th, breaking and entering the factory of the Atlas Confectionery Company, and stealing confectionery valued at ss; on June 13th, breaking md entering the warehouse of bfcelton, Frostick and Co., and stealing a quantity of rubber heels, a knife, and 5s in cash; between July 27th and 29th. stealing from the workshop of Jewell and I.ocan, two glass cutters, valued at £2 8s; on May 12th, breaking and t-ntering tho premises of John Harris, and stealing property valued at lUs, and committing mischief to the extent of £2. , ± , Mr Weston appeared for one of the youths. _ _. , The Magistrate, Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., said thot as two of the accused wero over sixteen years of nge they did not come within tho category of juvenile offenders. Hβ could not, therefore, deal with them, and as the four were charged with tho come offences, they would all have to be dealt with in the 3,ime way. The charge was an indictablo one", and he intended to commit them for trial, or if they pleaded "guilty," they would be sent to tho Supreme Court for sentence. He was coing to let the Judge deal with them. ° Chief-Detective Chrystal applied for a remand till to-day. This was sranted, and bail waa allowed in one surety of £25 each.
