S.S.W. Oscar "v."ildo was first tried on April 19th, 18i£, the case resulting in a partial acquittal. A newtrial was ordered, and on May _2oth of the same year Wilde was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. Ho died en November 30th, 1900. . . r R P 6.—According to section 14 ot the Impounding Act of 1881, the occupier of any fenced land under cultivation may destroy any poultry found trespassing, upon such land. It the carcases are not dawned and removed by the owner within tcrty-eign hours after being destroyed, the occupier must bury them, unoer a penalty not exceeding ill), ihe local authority of a district may, however, declare these .sections to be not in operation in the district over which it has jurisdiction.
