THE WHITE BLOUSE.
Now that the warm weather is approaching (says a Sydney writer), we are all turning our thoughts towards white blouses! With pure white canvas or linen gowns the blouse of fine muslin, inset with lace plays a most important part, and it will be needed for walking frocks of whit© serge or chiffon cloth. Two very important points I have noted this season with regard to thin blouses, and they are these: Near«v all the best blouses for day wear are made unlined, and invariably they are worn over a tight-fitting under-bodioe, high to th© neck, and with sleeves of -anal length to those of the blouse. Tho day in which it was pennJsmbl© to wear transparent blouses over lownecked cache corsets is over: the idea was never a suitable one, and when coloured ribbons were threaded into tbe luces of tbs caclHMsoraet the boundary lino between good taste and bad was crossed. Everything is to be said against wearine transparent blouses over low-necked under-bodices; th© neck and arms become most unbecomingly sunburnt, and th© general effect is never good, except in the case of very young cirls. The _aic_?« of th* blouse will depend entirely tn the perfection of cut and fit of the under bodice; the latter can be I'ghtly boned, and must bo as Carefully fitted as would be the bodice of an •laborata evening dress.
