Mr Farrcll, M.P., and fifteen others, have been committed for trial in connection with a riot at Longford, end cattle driving in Newton Forbes district, end assaults on the police. A baton charge by tho police failed. Bail was accepted. Mr Farrell objected to the jurisdiction of the Court, urging that the case should be taken at Newton Forbes. The present Court, he said, was a Star Chamber. If time permitted, a writ of prohibition would be applied for to the High Court.
