Mr and Mrs A. B. Q. Rhodes and family returned from their trip to the Home country vie Australia, by the Zealandia/ and came on to Lyttelton on Wednesday, morning by the Rotbmahana.
Mr R. A. Home, manager of the Dresden, who has been on » short holiday to Australia, returned to Christchurch yesterday. Mr John Studholme has been reelected a member of the Ashburton County Council.
The arrivals in town yosterday included Messrs i Frank Haig (Wellington;, A. E. Harding (Wellington), Mr R. Fnedlander (Ashburton), Mr J H. Fotheringham (Dunedin). •Mr R. Dick, Mr L. Moller, Mr H. Zuchuriah, and Mrs Cox Roper left for Sydney by the Wimmora yesterday. Mr F. D. 8. Neave left for Wellington by tho Pateena last night. , Mr A. McLennan, formerly manager of the Bank of New Zealand at Lyttelton, accompanied by Mrs MoLcnuan and family, left by the Wimmera last night for Wellington, where ho will reside in future.

Boyes of Timaru. takes over the management of the Otago and Southland branch.
